Our verdict
Spartan suits buyers who want a race-style challenge or adventure day rather than a quiet leisure voucher, and a catalogue of from 450 experiences makes the choice wide. The trade-off is scope: the offer is built around Spartan's own events, so a spa or dining day is not part of it.

Pros and cons
Pros
- The catalogue holds from 450 experiences, so a buyer picks an event rather than settle for a generic voucher.
- Vouchers are exchangeable, which takes the pressure off a recipient who has to move a date.
- Returns run for 31 days on the shop side, a stated window rather than a goodwill one.
- Spartan stays on experience days, adventure and gift cards, a tighter list than Jochen Schweizer, whose experience days, spa and driving runs wider.
Cons
- Support runs on email and help centre only, with no phone or live chat channel named.
- experience days, adventure and gift cards leaves out spa, driving, food and attractions, the categories that carry the lists at Jochen Schweizer, DealToday and mydays.
- One US entity, Spartan Race, Inc. in the United States, handles everything, so a European buyer is ordering across a border rather than from a nearby operator.
Who it suits
- Anyone who wants a Spartan race or adventure day as the gift itself.
- Buyers planning a group or team challenge, since a catalogue of from 450 experiences holds options at scale.
- Shoppers happy to sort questions by email and a help centre, and to lean on 31 days returns for shop items.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone after a driving day: mydays and Jochen Schweizer both list driving, and experience days, adventure and gift cards does not.
- Buyers wanting a spa, food or attraction voucher: DealToday's experience days, spa and food and drink covers those and Spartan's list does not.
Core features
Spartan builds the gift around an event rather than a treat, and the catalogue holds from 450 experiences, so a voucher can be matched to a particular kind of day. The range sits in experience days and adventure, with gift cards covering the purchase. The whole thing is exchangeable, and that is the practical point: a recipient can move a date when work, travel or weather gets in the way instead of writing the voucher off. On the shop side, returns run for 31 days, a real window for a wrong size or a changed mind. What the offer does not do is spread wide. There is no spa, driving, dining or attraction programme in the mix, so a buyer after a relaxing day out is reading the wrong catalogue. These are physical, competitive and scheduled days, which is the trade for a gift that gets talked about long after it is used.
The company behind it
Spartan Race, Inc. is the legal entity behind the brand, headquartered in the United States and founded in 2010. That is a long run in endurance sport, and it shows in what gets sold: race formats and obstacle courses rather than the broad leisure lists a general gift marketplace carries. Support runs on email and help centre, so a buyer who has read the terms, picked a date and has a question about a voucher change can put it in writing and hold the answer on record. The counterweight is that no telephone channel is named, and no regional office is described, so a buyer outside the United States resolves any delivery or language question alone. The practical read for a cross-border shopper is that the company, the terms and the returns all sit in one US operation, which keeps the terms short and the reach narrower.

Frequently asked questions
How many experiences does Spartan actually have?+
The catalogue holds from 450 experiences, spanning experience days and adventure, with gift cards used to buy them. That is a deep list for a single brand, so a voucher can be aimed at a specific kind of day rather than a general treat, and there is room to match a birthday or a team outing.
Can a Spartan gift card be exchanged or changed?+
Exchangeable is confirmed for Spartan gift cards, and exchangeable is also the most common answer across experience-day listings on the site, at 85.3%. Voucher length across those listings tends to run 12, so a swapped date usually still has room. The recipient can move it, the buyer should read the terms first.
What is Spartan's return policy?+
Shop items sit under a return window of 31 days, stated for the gift shop. That covers physical goods such as kit or merchandise. A redeemed experience voucher is a different thing from a returned parcel, so the returns window is the number to weigh for shop purchases rather than for a booked day.
How do I get an answer from Spartan support?+
Support runs on email and help centre. The help centre covers the repeatable questions on dates, formats and what to bring, and email handles the specific ones. No phone or live chat channel is named, so anything needing a same-day conversation has to go in writing and wait for a reply.
Who runs Spartan and where is it based?+
Spartan Race, Inc. is the legal entity behind the site, founded in 2010 and headquartered in the United States. The background is in organised endurance racing, which is why the catalogue is built around timed courses and obstacles. For a buyer, it means the company behind the voucher is the same organisation running the events.
Does Spartan sell spa, dining or driving experiences?+
It does not. experience days, adventure and gift cards covers experience days, adventure and gift cards, and nothing else. A buyer after a spa day, a driving experience, a meal or an attraction ticket should look at Jochen Schweizer, whose experience days, spa and driving lists all of those, or mydays, which runs a similar spread.
Where can a Spartan voucher be redeemed?+
The company is headquartered in the United States, and its events and shop are built around that market. A buyer elsewhere is ordering across a border, so delivery cost and any duty form part of the decision rather than a detail. Jochen Schweizer and mydays are the nearer comparison for a European buyer.
Is a Spartan voucher a good gift for a non-athletic recipient?+
It suits someone who likes being challenged. The offer is race days and adventure, and a catalogue of from 450 experiences gives room to pick a format that matches the recipient's comfort with physical effort. For a quiet afternoon, the same money buys a better fit at DealToday, whose experience days, spa and food and drink leans on spa and food.
