Our verdict on each
Appleyard
Appleyard is the pick for UK shoppers who want same day flowers, a subscription and a 7 day freshness guarantee in one basket. Entry price of £35.98 and a £5.99 delivery charge put it mid-table on cost, so value seekers should weigh that before ordering.
Freddie's Flowers
Freddie's Flowers suits people in GB and DE who want a recurring flower habit with a long freshness guarantee and free delivery. Bouquets start at £28 and subscriptions sit alongside letterbox flowers, so you pay subscription prices on top of the entry figure if you go that route.

Pros and cons
Appleyard
Pros
- Same day delivery is available, alongside next day delivery, so urgent gifts are covered.
- The range spans bouquets, letterbox flowers and plants, which means bouquets, plants, subscriptions and dried flowers sit in one basket.
- A 7 day freshness guarantee backs every order, and the return window is 14 days.
Cons
- Delivery adds £5.99 on top, so a £35.98 order is not the full outlay.
- The entry price of £35.98 places the brand toward the expensive end on price, at position 20 of 27.
- The catalogue runs in GB only, so buyers outside the UK cannot use it.
Freddie's Flowers
Pros
- Delivery costs £0 on every order, so the £28 entry price is close to what you pay
- A freshness guarantee of 10 to 14 days runs well past the 7 upper quartile among subscription brands
- Subscriptions sit alongside bouquets and letterbox flowers in the bouquets, letterbox flowers and subscriptions list
Cons
- Same day delivery is no, so gifts with a fixed date need planning ahead
- The £28 entry price sits at rank 14 of 27 brands, so cheaper entry points exist
- The 10 to 14 days guarantee is the standout benefit but there is no plant or dried flower line, unlike Fleurop
Who each suits
Appleyard
Who it suits
- UK shoppers sending a same day gift who also want plants or a subscription from the same seller.
- Buyers who care about cover on a flower order and read the 7 day freshness guarantee as the deciding factor.
- Gift buyers who need personalization and reach support on email, phone and help centre when something goes wrong.
Who should look elsewhere
- Fleurop buyers, who want a wider product list that already includes bouquets, plants and subscriptions if plants are not on their list.
- Serenata Flowers buyers who would rather start from a lower entry price than pay £5.99 on delivery.
- Blumenshop buyers looking outside the UK, since Appleyard's markets cover GB only.
Freddie's Flowers
Who it suits
- People in GB or DE who want flowers on a recurring schedule rather than one-off gifts
- Gift senders who care more about a freshness guarantee than about same day arrival
- Shoppers who want free delivery without adding shipping to the £28 entry price
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone needing flowers delivered the same day
- Buyers after plants or dried flowers, where Fleurop covers more product types
- Readers who want a single European delivery footprint beyond GB and DE

Questions about each
Appleyard
What does a first Appleyard order cost?+
Bouquets start at £35.98, and delivery is charged on top at £5.99. The two figures sit together, so the amount you see on the shop is the start of the spend rather than the whole cost of getting flowers to the door. Larger arrangements push the total higher.
How fast can Appleyard deliver?+
Same day delivery is available, and next day delivery is offered as well, which covers planned as well as urgent orders. The same day option is the reason many buyers pick this seller over a florist that only offers a next day window.
Freddie's Flowers
How much do flowers cost at Freddie's Flowers?+
Bouquets start at £28. Delivery is listed at £0, so the entry figure is not padded with shipping on a standard order. Subscriptions are charged on top of the bouquet you pick, so a recurring plan costs more than the £28 starting price suggests.
Does Freddie's Flowers offer same day delivery?+
Same day delivery is no, so a gift that has to land today will not work here. Plan a day ahead instead. The order cutoff of 8pm sets how late you can order for a planned delivery slot, so earlier ordering gives you more choice of timing.
