Founded is the year a company started trading, which gives a sense of how long it has been in business. Abel & Cole has been going since 1988, and 1st In Coffee since 2002. Age says little about quality on its own, but it does tell you whether a brand has stayed trading through earlier versions of the market you are shopping in.
