Pros and cons

Pros

  • Entry price of $29 sits well under Bourbon Concierge at $175
  • Shipping costs $0, so the checkout total matches the listed price
  • Personalization is yes, and it covers gift boxes and personalized alongside Jochen Schweizer at gift boxes and gift cards
  • Returns run 30 days, giving a window after delivery

Cons

  • Next day delivery is no, a gap against the 69.6% share of that ranking
  • Support runs on email and help centre only, while 63.4% is a common route elsewhere
  • Range is thin next to CEWE at gift boxes, personalized and photo gifts, which adds photo gifts, cards and gift cards
  • Markets cover US alone, so anyone buying from the UK or EU looks elsewhere

Who it suits

  • US buyers who want a gift box or personalized gift without a large outlay
  • Shoppers who care more about the item than about next day arrival
  • Gift buyers who would rather pay $0 shipping than a higher item price

Who should look elsewhere

  • Anyone with a deadline that needs next day delivery
  • Shoppers wanting photo prints, cards or gift cards, where CEWE at gift boxes, personalized and photo gifts covers more
  • Buyers outside US, or anyone who needs a gift card option

Core features

VIDL builds around two product lines, gift boxes and personalized, so the same shop covers a hamper-style box and a gift that carries a personal touch. Personalization is yes, and the range sits between Jochen Schweizer at gift boxes and gift cards and the wider shelf at CEWE, which lists gift boxes, personalized and photo gifts. The trade-off shows up in delivery. Next day delivery is no, while 69.6% of the hamper and gift box ranking includes brands that offer it. Returns are the compensating factor: the window runs 30 days, which gives time to check the box and swap anything that arrives wrong. Support is digital throughout, running on email and help centre, so questions about a set are handled in writing rather than by voice.

Prices

There is no subscription tier and no renewal step here, since each box is bought outright. Entry price is $29, the cheapest listing in the VIDL catalogue, which puts it well below Bourbon Concierge at $175. That gap is the clearest reason to pick VIDL first for a modest gift budget. The second number that matters is the delivery charge, listed as $0, so a buyer pays the shelf price and nothing extra to get the box sent. Comparing the two together, the outlay stays low at both ends: a low entry price and free shipping, with no membership fee layered on top.

The company behind it

VIDL trades as Summit Project, LLC (d/b/a vīdl), and the headquarters sits in the United States. Shipping policy covers US, so this is a single market operation rather than a multi country one. Anyone ordering from outside the US is looking at a store built around domestic logistics. Customer contact runs through email and help centre. The help centre handles most questions, and email covers order specifics, which suits exchanges and delivery questions but leaves no route for anyone who prefers to talk through a problem.

Frequently asked questions

What does a VIDL gift cost?+

The cheapest listing starts at $29, and the catalogue covers gift boxes and personalized. Each box is bought outright, so there is no membership fee and no second payment later on. For comparison, Bourbon Concierge starts at $175.

Is shipping charged on top of the box?+

Shipping is listed as $0, so the amount you see for a box is what you pay to have it sent. That keeps the entry figure of $29 honest as a real outlay rather than a teaser rate. It also removes one of the add ons that pushes up gift shop totals.

Can VIDL boxes be personalized?+

Personalization is yes, and it sits alongside gift boxes in gift boxes and personalized. That makes VIDL a practical pick for a named or tailored gift, while CEWE at gift boxes, personalized and photo gifts extends into photo gifts, cards and gift cards for a different kind of custom order.

Does VIDL offer next day delivery?+

Next day delivery is no, which matters most when a gift has a fixed date attached to it. The hamper and gift box ranking shows 69.6% of brands offering it, so shop early or pick a brand that can guarantee arrival.

How long do I have to return something?+

The returns window runs 30 days from delivery, which is long enough to open a box, check the contents and raise a problem in one go. Support for that process runs on email and help centre, so the claim will be handled in writing.

Where does VIDL ship, and can I get help by phone?+

Shipping policy covers US, so the store is built for the US rather than a wider set of countries. Help runs on email and help centre, with a help centre for general questions and email for order details, and no voice line listed.

Who is behind the brand?+

The trader is Summit Project, LLC (d/b/a vīdl), with headquarters in the United States. As a single market operation, the company structures its delivery and returns around domestic orders, which is the trade-off against a broader range.

Is VIDL cheaper than Bourbon Concierge?+

On entry price, yes. VIDL starts at $29 against $175 at Bourbon Concierge, a wide gap at the budget end. If you are buying premium spirit sets rather than an everyday gift box, that comparison narrows on what is inside the box.
